What is Latisse?
Latisse is a once-a-day treatment you apply topically to the base of your upper eyelashes. Patients in a clinical trial saw results in as few as 8 weeks with full results after 12 to 16 weeks.
Great eyelashes don't just happen overnight. That's why it's important to note that LATISSEworks gradually and remarkably — with full results after 12 to 16 weeks. Once you begin treatment, you must continue applying the topical solution each night and follow the directions for best results.
Remember results are gradual over time. LATISSEworks from the inside out. As the treatment progresses, you'll begin to see changes in length, thickness and darkness gradually. After week 16, you'll see the full effect of LATISSE — and so will others.
If you stop using LATISSE, your eyelashes are expected to return to their previous appearance over
several weeks to months.
How does Latisse work?
LATISSE makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is not known, research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the percent of hairs in, and the duration of, the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because bimatoprost will prolong this growth phase.
Possible side effects:
The most common side effects after using LATISSEsolution are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness. LATISSEsolution may cause other less common side effects which typically occur on the skin close to where LATISSEis applied, or in the eyes. These include skin darkening, eye irritation, dryness of the eyes, and redness of the eyelids. LATISSEuse may cause darkening of the eyelid skin which may be reversible. LATISSEuse may also cause increased brown pigmentation of the colored part of the eye which is likely to be permanent.
Special warnings associated with LATISSE use:
LATISSEsolution is intended for use on the skin of the upper eyelid margins at the base of the eyelashes. DO NOT APPLY to the lower eyelid. If you are using LUMIGANor other products in the same class for elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), or if you have a history of abnormal IOP, you should only use LATISSE under the close supervision of your physician.
